What we are doing
- In January 2026 we installed solar panels on our office roof to provide our electricity. Any balance is sourced from a green energy provider.
- Our gas is sourced from a supplier who is reinvesting in renewable energy sources and is working towards Net Zero by 2050.
- Over the last year we have moved our light fittings over to more energy-efficient LED bulbs.
- We no longer use local servers; reducing overall electricity consumption.
- We have upgraded to a more modern, energy efficient IT infrastructure.
- We practice paper reduction within our offices.
- We continue to review our supply chain, focusing new sourcing projects close to home. We have a strong focus on UK production and have invested heavily in products made in the UK. We actively limit our overseas supplier base and always try and work with existing suppliers wherever possible.
- We have reduced our foreign travel.
- In an effort to balance the scales, we have invested in projects that absorb carbon and have planted thousands of trees through the Plant a Tree scheme.
- We have encouraged staff to take responsibility for their use of energy, explaining that the greenest energy is the energy that is not used. This has fostered a 'switch off when not in use' environment where lights, computers and other equipment are switched off when not needed.
- We also encourage staff to keep their local community free from harmful waste. For example we organised a “beach tidy” as a social team building experience.
Continuing to do the right thing
- We will invest in our office building and identify energy usage, with a plan to continually improve energy efficiency. We aim to reduce the use of paper even further, and are actively encouraging the use of digital documents with this in mind.
- We have a rolling scheme to replace desktop computers with new models that are more energy efficient.
- We will source from UK suppliers where practical.
- We will review our carrier choices and, where possible, utilise fleet management, transitioning to alternative fuels and low-carbon technology carrier options.
- We will continue to reduce our waste, with responsible purchasing, re-use, repair and recycling programmes.
- We have already, and will continue to, encourage more virtual meetings where appropriate.
- We have started to actively monitor packaging use, and we have started replacing non recyclable packaging with environment friendly alternatives where possible.
